Newsies

Seize the day and join us for Newsies at the New Tampa Performing Arts Center!

Newsies is an energetic, inspiring musical based on the real-life Newsboys’ Strike of 1899 in New York City.

The story follows Jack Kelly, a charismatic young newspaper seller who dreams of a better life away from the streets. When the powerful newspaper publishers raise the price the newsies must pay for their papers, Jack and his fellow newsboys decide to stand together and fight back.

With the help of David, a hardworking newsie who joins the cause, and Katherine, an ambitious young reporter, Jack leads the boys in organizing a strike. Their fight becomes a story about standing up for what is right, finding your voice, and the power of working together.

Based on the 1980’s movie with Christian Bale, Newsies is a feel-good musical about underdogs taking on giants. Perfect for a summer outing for children, teens, and families.

Newsies will be performed at the New Tampa Performing Arts Center, 8550 Hunters Village Dr, Tampa, FL 33647
